The vision for inquireaboutme is simple. It allows others to speak on the behalf of another person, a place of business, a university, or organization, by using videos as references. Whether a person, place of business, university, or organization; They all have references.

inquireaboutme is a web/app based social media network where employee, student, and membership prospects can save and use videos as their references, eliminating the need to constantly ask someone to serve as a reference. Whether it’s a job-seeker, a student attempting to get into college, or someone seeking membership into an organization, inquireaboutme helps increase credibility, by allowing others to speak on behalf of another.

inquireaboutme eliminates the need for Employers, Universities and Organizations to contact references for potential employees, students, or membership applicants. For employee and student prospects, or membership applicants, it eliminates the fear of what a reference may say, or if a reference has been contacted. The goal is for inquireaboutme to be the accepted protocol, in any capacity where references are required. POINTERS

    How to Record a Video
The functionalities on inquireaboutme will enable you to create an 'About Me' video without having to do so locally. For individuals who prefer to record an 'About Me' video live, a webcam will appear while logged on inquireaboutme, and you will be prompted to record. The same applies for the recipient of a 'Video Reference' request.

If decided to create a video locally and then upload, there are several methods. To create and record a reference video or about me video, most desktop and laptop computers are already equipped with a web camera that allows you to do so. To record a video, you can use one of many free programs that allows you to record and save videos to your desk/lap top, then upload to your i.am page. While a desktop computer provides a more stable foundation, a laptop can easily be fixed on a solid platform to make a video recording.

    Video Requests
If created locally within your personal work environment, the accepted formats to upload videos to your i.am page are: .m4v, .mpg, and .wmv. These are the formats needed to upload an ‘About Me’ video, 'Reference' video, or ‘Accolade’ video.

    Specialty/Customized Videos
Animation and whiteboard videos should be saved in the following formats: .m4v, .mpg, and .wmv. These are considered professional videos that are customized. Regardless of the type of video, simply browse to the localized area on your hard drive, and upload (or drag and drop) to the respective area.

    Creating the Ideal Recording Environment
For 'About Me' or 'Reference' videos, the area that is viewed in the web camera live space should be clean and an office background is ideal. The area should be well-lit, with no additional movement in the background, or sound (other than your voice). Your attire should be professional, as though you’re conducting an interview.

Practice before recording, and only upload a solid presentation, with no breaks in between conversation. Your video should be short, with the ideal recording time being 30 seconds to 1 minute. Eye contact should remain entirely on the web camera, reading from notes is not ideal, and speaking fluently (no pauses) makes your statement look more genuine.

To end your video, have your hand and mouse ready to stop recording, eliminating the need to look away from the web camera. Remember, the goal is to present yourself in the best professional manner possible.

'Accolade' videos are considered in the moment, and should be that of a monumental event, that's considered to be an achievement.

Hello, Greetings, I am Lisa Freeland, and I have to tell you about my experience at The Bluefin Bistro in Long Beach, California. It is by far, the best seafood restaurant I have found in this area. My family and I went to The Bluefin Bistro, after seeing it’s positive blog reviews and reference videos on inquireaboutme.com, and decided to try it for ourselves. We made reservations at the last minute (3 hours before), but they were still able to accommodate us. We were seated immediately, and our waiter introduced himself and referred to us by our last name. Since it was our first time there, we asked our waiter for suggestions, and he was very knowledgeable on the menu items. He even did a great job suggesting food for our 7 and 9 year old kids. Our food came out in less than 20 minutes, and everything was awesome!!!! Not to mention, having a window seat view of the ocean, which added to the ambiance. Nothing was overly priced, and we even had leftovers to take home. My family and I will certainly be back, and if you get a chance to visit The Bluefin Bistro, make sure to try the Lemon Red Snapper with Herbed Butter. It is to die for!!!!!

The history professors here at MYU are hands on, and have given me plenty of insight in having a career as a Curator. One of the classes provided the opportunity for me to study abroad in Egypt, where I met other college students, who are also seeking the same degree. The friendships I established in Egypt will last a lifetime. I never thought I’d be in a position, to travel to other countries. The History department at MYU has changed my life forever. You can truly tell that the professors want me to be successful in my efforts, and want me to reach my goal of being a Curator.

I am Jason Whitlock, volunteer for ‘The Z Foundation’. If not for ‘The Z Foundation’, we would not have been able to afford the expenses related to our daughter’s care. Yet alone, room and board for my wife and I to accompany our daughter to her doctor and treatment visits. It’s because of ‘The Z Foundation’ that my daughter survived the ordeal, and is now cancer free, and we were able to stay with her every step of the way. The Z Foundation made a big difference in my life. By volunteering, I feel I’m paying it forward to other families who too experience similar situations. I aim to ensure that families in need have the same positive interactions as I did, and it’s self rewarding knowing I played a role in assisting with their needs.
